Elmeri joined the Acorn team in August 2021 as an Instructional Coach. She has over 13 years of experience as a teacher, Head of Department, and has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Education at Stellenbosch University.
Elmeri was a marker for the National Senior Certificate Dramatic Arts Paper 1 and 2 for several years until she became a national verifier and external moderator for UMALUSI in 2018. She was on the CAPS strengthening committee for Dramatic Arts, a lead teacher for Creative Arts CAPS teacher’s training, and has recently designed Creative Arts assessments for Oxford University Publishers’ online platform Eduzone. She has also worked as a radio presenter and music compiler.
Elmeri sees herself as a lifelong learner and has so far obtained a master’s degree in Drama, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Cum Laude), and is currently completing her Post Graduate Diploma in Media Management through Rhodes University. She feels passionate about quality education that shapes young minds into critical thinking individuals that celebrate diversity and inclusivity. She believes we must shape the youth of today to become the future leaders of our beautiful country.
