Conrad Adendorff is a Teacher Coach at Acorn Education from August 2019 where he coaches teachers at Apex High School. Conrad started his career as a Biology teacher at Kleinvlei Secondary School and was appointed Head of the Science faculty five years later. In 2001, he widened his horizon and accepted a teaching position at Ben L Smith International School in the USA. He then worked within a Public Private Partnership with Nord Anglia as a Mathematics Advisor in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Conrad went on to work as an Academic Advisor with the Abu Dhabi Education Council. He continued his journey as an International Numeracy Coach with CfBT in Brunei Darussalam.
Conrad developed and reviewed international standardized exams for Grades six to nine learners, alongside the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Conrad has sound knowledge of evaluating sample resources, both in print and manipulatives. He developed and delivered professional development focused on curriculum, assessment, and pedagogical approaches. Conrad has a strong knowledge base of current pedagogical practices and is abreast with trends in education.
He has developed middle managers and teachers’ capacity to enhance their teaching pedagogy to become more learner-centered and use a wide range of differentiated teaching strategies.
Conrad holds a Master’s degree in Education from Murdoch University, Australia, a Bachelor’s degree in Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Education as well as a Higher Diploma in Education.
