Abraham De VilliersHead of Education

Abraham has worked in urban education his entire career. As an educator in an urban
setting, his primary focus was to provide an excellent education to underprivileged students
from low-income communities.

His work resulted in sustained positive impact on countless
families as many students received their high school diplomas and earned coveted places in
prestigious universities all over the United States. Dr. de Villiers firmly believes that all
students deserve a high quality education, and is dedicated to engaging all stakeholders in
the process of providing this education.

Prior to working at Acorn, Abraham was a chemistry and biology teacher within Los Angeles
Unified School District and an Assistant Principal and Principal in Green Dot Public Schools.
Dr. de Villiers earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky, his
Master of Arts degree from California State University – Northridge, and his Doctoral degree
from Pepperdine University.
